Jan Rosenow is a consultant and researcher with more than nine years of experience in energy and climate policy. He is a Senior Consultant with Ricardo-AEA, a world-leading energy and climate change consultancy, delivering visionary, integrated environmental solutions worldwide. Ricardo-AEA assist Government with evidence based policy development and solve environmental challenges to improve organisational performance.

Prior to his work at Ricardo-AEA, Jan was a self-employed consultant running his own business, JR Energy Consulting. He also worked as a consultant in the London Office of SKM Enviros being part of the Climate & Renewables Group. Before joining SKM Enviros, he worked for the German Öko-Institut and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy.

In addition to his consultancy work Jan also has a track record in energy research - his work has been published in leading journals such as Energy Policy, Energy Efficiency, Energy & Environment and Energy & Buildings. He regularly presents on invitation at international conferences and has been interviewed by BBC Radio 4, The Guardian and the German newspaper Die Zeit about his research. He also gave evidence to the House of Commons' Energy and Climate Change Committee and government officials on several occasions.

Jan is a member of the Think Tank 30 - a network of young people under the roof of the German Chapter of the Club of Rome and the Atlantic Council's Emerging Leaders in Environmental and Energy Policy Network.

Jan finished a PhD in Energy Policy at Oxford University (the viva will be in May 2013). He holds two further postgraduate degrees including an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics. Throughout his studies Jan won various scholarships and awards from organisations such as the UK Energy Research Centre, the Heinrich Böll Foundation, McKinsey & Company, the London School of Economics, and the German Academic Exchange Service.
